How You Like It Chunky Tuna Salad

Chunky and crunchy and oh so good!

I created this last night after my son decided to get Wendy’s for his meal.  It is tough to resist Wendy’s especially a Triple Baconator, fries, and a Fanta. The tuna salad came out very good, and it also gave me an excuse to use my new egg cooker gadget (IT WORKS WELL, Red Copper Egg Cooker).

NolaKitty’s “How You Like It” ChunkyTuna Salad

Here is what I used to make this crunchy, chunky party in your mouth:

  • Three cans Members Marks (5 oz) Albacore Tuna, in water, drained and flaked
  • Six large hard-boiled eggs (chopped)
  • Two ribs celery (diced)
  • One small yellow onion (diced)
  • garlic powder (to taste)
  • dill (to taste)
  • parsley
  • dry mustard
  • mayonnaise
  • yellow mustard
  • brown mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • old bay seasoning

Dice eggs, onions, and celery and put into a good sized bowl to mix it up.  I mix the vegetables and eggs before I add the tuna to make sure everything distributed nicely.

Next, add the flaked albacore tuna – mix.

Add garlic powder, dill, parsley, and dry mustard – mix.

Add mayo and mustards.  I cannot tell you how much to add because this is your preference.  I don’t like a bowl of mayo with some tuna sprinkled in, but I don’t want a dry tuna salad either.  It is a lot of adding a little and tasting until you get it right.  I am a real person that cooks food just like my audience so no recipes – tasting and adjusting.

When you get your tuna salad the way you like it, then add the salt, pepper, and old bay to taste, Taste. Adjust. Taste. Adjust. 🙂

Now, this is what I used for flavors, but there are optional add-ins if you like it.

  • Dill pickle juice added instead of dill
  • relish
  • lemon pepper
  • lemon juice
  • hot sauce

Whatever your imagination and taste buds can handle. 🙂 So have at, have fun, and experiment and create in your lab as I do.

As Seen on TV Gadgets I Used

I diced the eggs, celery, and onion using another must-have gadget in my kitchen, the Vidalia Chop Wizard.  I use this more than I use my food processor because it is quick, sharp, and everything is uniformly diced.  Even ingredient chopping is something that never left me from Culinary Arts, so I tend to be extremely OCD about my chop sizes.

I am adding a link to Amazon for the Red Copper Egg Cooker, the Vidalia Chop Wizard, and the Red Copper 5 minute Chef.  I love As Seen on TV gadgets, so I try them all and then give an honest review.  Those three are great to add to your kitchen. If you are interested in buying anything, click on the link and it will take you to Amazon.

I get a commission of 5 cents and get to live another day with Amazon.  Amazon is threatening to close my account due to lack of sales, but being aggressive is obnoxious. Buy something, great! Don’t buy it, great!  Honestly, just come back and visit for a spell. I have recipes and stories to share. Oh! Cake and pie! Everyone will come if I have cake and pie.
