Gonna Do It…

I am in the process of writing a testimonial for a Billy Blanks Infomercial.  Taebo has been a part of my life for so long and has helped me out so much I need to let them know.  I don’t care if they pick me or not…I just hope that Billy reads my story and understands just how much his program has helped me inside and out.  I have to admit …I would be stoked to be invited to workout with him and Shellie and to get a chance to meet him in person.  My husband had a chance to workout with him and meet him in Iraq.  I have to say I was SO JEALOUS!!  He just doesn’t grasp how I feel.  🙂  Yep…I sound like a total groupie.
Honestly…the reason I like Billy so much is because he reminds me of my Daddy.  He is about the same age as Daddy…and in the same shape.  My Daddy is my Hero…I look up to him so much and I always love to hear what he thinks and get his opinion.  I remember Daddy taking TaeKwondo when I was younger.  He would go to the classes religiously and was in terrific shape.  I would watch him practice his routines and his moves.  I didn’t take any classes with him because I was a teen-aged girl and didn’t want to sweat.  I was always impressed by what he was able to do…the moves…the flexibility…everything.  Fast forward to 1999 when I got the first Taebo tapes.  I basically remembered the moves that Daddy showed me.  I remembered how inspired I was whenever I saw him practice.  I also felt the inspiration from Billy (via the tapes) that I always got from Daddy.  I also like that his daughter Shellie works out with him as well.  I will always regret being “too cool” to go to the classes with Daddy.  The newer set (Amped) has Shellie slipping up and yelling “Go Dad!”  and that inspires me to go on.  That is what I always think whenever Daddy tells me about his latest venture…GO DADDY!!   🙂 🙂 🙂
Anyway…i know I sound like a groupie or a Taebo junkie…but it is really more than the weight loss.  It is feeling like I have my Daddy in the room with me while I am working out.  Motivating me to do “just one more set”  and making me feel like I can accomplish anything.  Thanks Daddy for showing me that no matter what your age or health…if you believe you can do it then you will.  My Daddy is a good man…those are a rarity these days.  I am so happy to be his daughter.  I hope what he has instilled in me rubs off on the kids.
Off to finish my testimonial and to find a picture of myself that doesn’t have me looking like a hot mess.  🙂
Oh yeah…did my workout today, made shish kabobs, went to my sister in laws (she is having contractions…BABY TIME), and I am almost finished with my laundry.  Go ME!

    Hi Robin,
I just wanted to say Hi, your site popped up on my Google alerts for Billy’s name. He’s in San Diego right now with Shellie, doing a health convention. When he gets home I am going to read him your letter. I think it’s so cute that you were jealous because your husband got to work out with him when he went to Iraq. If you want to speak to him on the phone I can arrange it, just let me know. Billy and Shellie just got asked to go back to Afghanistan again in September, the schedule just came over the fax machine. What an honor to go serve our troops! Hope that this note finds you having a beautiful and very blessed day.

    OMG.
Thank you for the comment. Your husband and your daughter have been an inspiration to me. I don’t think I would be where I am today if it wasn’t for the excellent workouts and the inspiration that I receive from Billy. He does remind me of my Daddy…I am serious when I say that.
God Bless You and Your Family!

I honestly believe I would faint if I met Billy. 🙂 I think it is so awesome that his wife has commented here. I am geechy about that as well. You can sense the spirituality just flowing from her comments. I guess it is the whole family and not just Billy and Shellie that channel inspiration.
Your daughter will worship the groud you walk on…even during those teenaged years where you are totally uncool and clueless. I hope you post many pictures of the Peanut…
It is odd…three people that I know have babies. My sister in law, her sister, and now Waist…the old wives tale is true. Babies do come in threes…
